Back in April 2011, Nokia announced that China has become its Global Innovation hub for Mobile Phone and New Windows Phone. Following the announcement, Nokia quickly launched a large-scale business transformation program to ramp up Beijing R&D capabilities, specifically the Beijing innovation R&D hub and is now recruiting up to 600 new employees by mid-2012.

What Are We Looking For?

Principal EMCESD ENGINEERS

We are looking for outstanding candidates to join us as full-time Hardware Engineers. Successful candidates will have developed high-performance, stable Hardware that has been successfully deployed in a global product. You will have a system-wide, architectural view of the solutions that you build. You will also have strong technical ability, a focus on the customer experience, great teamwork and communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

You will work as part of an Agile team at our development center in Beijing, China launching and growing new products for Nokias Mobile Phones business. You will play a key contributor role in your team -as they will look to you for advice on the mobile technology. You will be a pivotal team player and able to deploy your initiatives, giving you the responsibility and authority to ensure success. You will be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation, business analysis and technical design through to Hardware development across a variety of technologies. Your Hardware will need to meet remarkably high standards of performance and reliability, and will operate a global scale.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will comprise:

1. Join EMCESD design maturity review, give inputs from own expertise, high contribution to project milestones by solvingavoiding most complex problems.

2. Methodology study to solve the existing or forecasted EMCESD challenge more effectively or efficiently.

3. Coaching of sub team EMCESD engineers and drive for EMCESD competence development

4. Troubleshooting proposals for urgent project hot issues.

5. Keep track of global EMCESD activities, participate global meetings and workshops

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a degree in Engineering and relevant background with proven track record in a technical discipline. We expect a recognized professional with the following attributes:

Education and Major

·PhD degree in electronics engineering or relevant major.

Working experience

·Typically 8-12 years relevant experience. Recognized expert in EMCESD field (depth & breadth).

Professional knowledge

·Very strong fundamental theory background in EMCESD area, and broad cross functional competency areas which are applied to the daily work.

·Has deep expertise on mobile phone EMCESD area.

·Can forecast or direct the design trend in mobile phone EMCESD area.

·Create the methodology to solve the future or existing EMCESD challenge more effectively or efficiently.

Soft skill

·Fluent speaking and decent written English skill for the daily communication.

·Strong Influence and persuasion skill to have others support the decision and help the whole team increase output quality.

·Strong coaching skill to help other team members in solving engineering problems.

·Strong network and relationship within the organization and especially with the industry.

·Innovative thinking to seeds the opportunities and drive the innovation from RF side for NOKIA products. IPR application experience is the plus.
