As a J2ME SW Engineer in Beijing, you will be responsible for the design & implementation of solutions that supports our Nokia strategy of delivering Internet to the next billion. This is your opportunity to join a new team and to develop and take messaging products to the global marketplace.

Your primary responsibilities include:

- strong technical contribution to Java EmailSocialIM clientapp development

- high level design, detailed design, coding, testing

- status reporting on development activities

- making suggestions and contributions towards improved productivity, product attractiveness or quality

- liaising with other stakeholder teams on regular basis

Works as an engineer in a technology area e.g. SW Development

Main Responsibility Area

Responsible for specifying, planning, reporting, designing and testing in hisher area. Solves complex engineering problems of own technology area. Typically participates in reviews of own or neighboring projects. Has specialist knowledge on a technical competence area and a cross functional competence area.

Scope

Individual Contributor Variety of complex tasks within area of responsibility, Demonstrates initiative & contributes to problem solving. Acts with independence and discretion in routine matters. Makes decisions that affect own work.

Qualifications

Primary skills required to be successful:

- key contributor, recognized specialist

- very good knowledge of client or app development on a mobile platform, e.g. Nokia S40

- very good knowledge of J2MEJ2SE development,

- experienced in Java application or client development

- ability to understand existing code, good debugging skills

- keen attention to software quality and implementation details

- good spoken and written communication skills in English

- ability to work independently

- experience of Agile development methodologies in practice, XP or SCRUM is a plus

- experience of Email, social, IM clientapp development is a plus

- Experience of working in multi-national companies is a plus

- 3+ years total experience in J2MEJ2SEJ2EE development projects.
