Our User Experience Designers form part of a cross-displinary design team accountable for the evolution of Browser, Web apps, Maps, Life tools, Messaging, Chat and Social Media, in partnership with the Mobile Phone Services Business Unit. Our Mobile Phones division ships over a million devices a day worldwide, especially in regions like India, China, South-East Asia, Africa and Latin America. MPS delivers a range of innovative services to engage these mobile users, from information subscriptions for agriculture, healthcare and education, to proxy-web browser, and social, messaging and location-based mobile apps.

Task: Leading with specific concepts that influence the next UI evolution for Mobile Phone services. The team produces design concepts will be developed into delightful products and features and that enable the long-term competitiveness of Nokia Mobile Phones. What is unique and exciting about this role is the aspiration to create an entirely updated experiences on multiple platforms that evolve iconic experiences that ship in high volume. This will be an intense effort that integrates back end server architecture and the intersection for great experience design and user needs.

User Experience Designer role: you will translate business requirements into desirable user experiences for mobile, communicated in user scenarios, use cases, design wireframes and documented with specifications for successful implementation.

You need to understand the behaviours, needs and context of mobile users in emerging market countries and be ready to adjust your designs according to research findings and service analytics. You will have the chance to observe user studies and should be able to travel.

You must be able to create simple, clear and satisfying experiences from complex and conflicting user, business and technical requirements.

We need you to be passionate about user experience design and tactfully persuasive in helping your team deliver great designs.

Qualifications

Essential requirements

·Significant professional experience designing shipping mobile phone experiences.

·Portfolio of compelling interaction design work with examples of design proposals, user scenarios, use cases, wireframes, UX architectures and design specifications.

· Strong proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Visio or Omnigraffle. Good visual communications skills.

· Masters degree related to Interaction Design or Human-Computer Interaction.

·Great collaboration and communications skills (verbal and written english).

·Ability to travel internationally occasionally, for example, between UK, Germany, US, India or China.

Preferred

·Experience designing interactions for users from India, China, or other BRICA markets.

· Experience designing and working with developers for mobile ecosystems like Nokia series 40, 60, Meego, iOS or Android.

·Ability to prototype experiences using Flash or html.

·Experience of working on agile development projects.
