Nokia Research Center Radio Systems laboratory drives and secures the innovativeness and competitiveness of wireless communication solutions for Nokias products. NRC Radio Systems main objectives are to create radio innovations, to ensure fast commercialization of new radio enabled differentiating solutions and to build a strong IPR portfolio in future radio standards. NRC Radio Systems also explores new technological opportunities and solve scientific problems in cognitive radio networks, an area which is likely to play a dominant role in future communication systems. NRC Radio Systems is located in three countries: Finland, USA and China.

Sensor Radio Networks & Prototyping team (in Beijing) within Radio Systems laboratory develops mobile centric prototype systems and identifies differentiated radio connectivity solutions, especially Internet of Things (IoT) applications and Software Defined Radio (SDR) implementations. The team is multi-disciplinary and works in close collaboration with other radio research & prototyping teams in Finland and USA. The team has a special role in collaborating with universities and operators as well as the manufacturing companies in China.

Your responsibility as a Senior Hardware Engineer is to speed SDR prototyping and identify new wireless solutions for growth markets by:

· Design and development of prototype system, esp. in Software Defined Radio implementations
· Fast prototyping of board level hardware, e.g. enabling short range radio connectivity on mobile devices
· Identifying local customer needs and seeking differentiated solutions

Qualifications

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer with the following qualities:

· Knowledge and experience with embedded system, and digital & analog circuits, and prior experience in the design and debug of board level hardware
· Advanced user of one or more schematic & PCB design tools, and ability to learn technical concepts and material quickly and independently
· Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following technology is a plus: FPGA, RF circuit, high speed circuit and Linux driver
· Prior experience in requirement-to-demo design process is a plus
· Good communication and team work skills, and able to adapt to changing priorities and challenges easily
· Passion for creating new solutions and driving product transfer
· University degree (BScMSc) in a relevant field (EE, CS, Physics or Mathematics) is required
