Back in April 2011, Stephen Elop Nokias CEO announced that China has become its Global Innovation hub for Mobile Phones and Smart Devices (New Windows Phone). Following the announcement, Nokia quickly launched a large-scale business transformation program to ramp up Beijing R&D capabilities, specifically the Beijing innovation R&D hub and is now recruiting up to 600 new employees by mid-2012.

(Senior) Engineer, Build & Prototype

We are looking for outstanding employees to join us as full-time (Senior) Engineer, Build & Prototype

Your Qualifications and Experience

Several years experience in a mobile phone diagnostic and failure analysis role, a telecommunication engineering Honours degree or postgraduate study (applicants with a degree in a related discipline who have demonstrated a strong grounding in Computer Science will also be considered).

Essential skills:

· Comprehensive knowledge of all HW functionsof mobile phone product, with wide scope and accumulated experience

· Capability of Diagnostic Error tracing

· Able to work withHW design engineers with pragmatic tasks across technology areas

· Demonstrates craftsmanship in proto rework, fine pitch mockup, soldering skills

· Hands-on knowledge and a broad technical know-how

· Conducts practical tasks, measurements and failureroot cause identification

· Complements the HW design engineers with a unique combination of knowledge and experience

· Has the ability to network across different departments in R&D

· Manages to seek and provide necessary information, to avoid issues "falling between chairs

· Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills

· At least 5 years of working experience in related industry

· Strong written and verbal English communications skills

· The candidate will be highly pragmatic - a do-er as well as a thinker; we use technology to solve real-world problems
